Costco’s only gas station in Iceland is at the Kauptún warehouse in Garðabær, in Greater Reykjavík. These are its latest recorded prices for 95 petrol and diesel, in Icelandic krónur per litre. Costco doesn’t publish its fuel prices online, so they come from Gasvaktin, an open-source price tracker whose maintainer records them from the pumps. The date under each price shows when it last changed.

Costco Gas Station Hours
The Kauptún gas station opens at 05:00 every day, hours before the warehouse, so you can fill up early – handy before an early flight from Keflavík or a long drive. You don’t need to go into the warehouse to buy gas.

Do you need a Costco membership to buy gas in Iceland?
Yes. The Costco gas station is for members only: the pump reads your Costco membership card and checks that it’s active before it will let you fill up. Without a valid card you can’t buy fuel there, however good the price.
A Costco membership is valid at Costco warehouses worldwide, so travellers report using US, Canadian and UK cards at the Kauptún pumps. You pay by card at the pump – there is no cash option. We haven’t confirmed which payment card brands the Iceland pumps accept, so it’s worth bringing a backup card or calling the warehouse before you rely on it.
